Absorbers are direct coupling, ball-bearing vibration control devices. The bottom of the device sits directly on top of the absorber. Alto-Extremo absorbers drain vibrations and resonances into a high mass body – Lyd I and Exact MK II - or an even higher mass body such as the Lyd II and Fat-Boy MK II. When used properly, Alto-Extremo's absorbers create unprecedented sound quality with better three-dimensionality, clearly defined instruments and outstanding dynamics. | What makes an absorber good? | ||
|
The first criteria is how well the absorbers transfer and eliminate vibration. The absorber must also function with as many different devices as possible. The base of the device should not be a significant factor, however the absorber should be an aesthetically pleasing part of the device. Alto-Extremo's absorbers are optimized to produce the most natural sound possible. They are equipped with a dampening or absorbing component, either a damper ring or Delrin. Thanks to the damper ring, Lyd absorbers can also be used for a variety of purposes. |

At first glance Alto-Extremo's absorbers don’t
really look different, but many design details and the optimal manner in which
the different components work together make them very unique and effective.

| Which Alto-Extremo absorbers do I use for which purposes? | ||
| The Lyd I absorber works perfectly with all devices, speakers and racks. The Lyd II absorber is ideal for CD players, turntables, power amplifiers and integrated amplifiers as well as speakers. Alto-Extremo's Exact MK II absorber works best with CD players and pre-amplifiers, as well as with integrated amplifiers and power conditioner. The Fat-Boy MK II absorber is the specialized product for problematic basses or if you would like to improve the sound quality of your CD player, pre-amplifier or tube device. | ||

Alto-Extremo Lyd I The most successful absorber, it can be used optimally in every system. The superior design with precision brass interior components and stainless steel exterior parts, as well as the two damper rings, create excellent resonance transfer without allowing any vibrations to reach the base of the device. This function is necessary for higher bass precision and for an open and clearly distinguishable sound profile. German publication Stereo in the March 2007 issue: “On the Alto-Extremo the Dynaudio speakers played at a superior level.” Lyd technology makes these absorbers very flexible. The adjustable puck compensates for uneven floor surfaces. With the outer damper ring the absorber’s effect is magnified. Try the absorber with the damper ring on the device as well as on the surface itself. When you remove this damper ring the absorber can be directly connected, which can also be an advantage. Alto-Extremo Lyd II Larger than the Lyd I absorber, its higher mass and unique design allow it to take on even more force. This is one absorber that does justice to its name. It works optimally under devices and speakers that require a higher degree of absorption. Even with more difficult floor surfaces, such as older floors or glass racks, the Lyd II is the best choice. Alto-Extremo Exact MK II The Exact is the most inexpensive of Alto-Extremo’s absorbers. The Delrin body, the bronze ball and the stainless steel puck combined make an excellent and effective combination of materials. Energy is transferred from the device and reduced in the Delrin body without any vibrations reaching the floor. In combination with the optimized platform the Exact absorber is a very good product to lend hi-fi devices superior sound quality with precise three-dimensionality and differentiated dynamics. Alto-Extremo Fat-Boy MK II The name Fat-Boy was chosen because of the 24 ounces that the compact unit weights. The body is made of stainless steel and the puck of Delrin. Between the puck and the body there is an extra large ball made of bronze. Thanks to this unique design and optimized platform, the Fat-Boy provides better absorption and can be used on racks with glass or stone bases. Alto-Extremo NeoFlex NEW! Are you looking for one of the best and most exclusive absorbers on the market? NeoFlex is both of these. The e-TP609 is a sophisticated, luxuriously made single-chassis power
distributor that eliminates many common problems found in audio and video
components caused by massively contaminated electrical power lines. The AC waveform becomes severely distorted by ground noise, voltage spikes and sags, high frequency power supply noise from other components in your own system, plus radiated high frequency digital noise from processors and digital interconnects. There are also distortion products at the top and bottom of the AC waveform created by switch-mode power supplies in electronic devices on the same circuit.
