Analog One MKIII |
|
|
 |
|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
For the Analog One MkIII, a 1.96"
thick turntable platter made of aluminum, and a 3.14" solid aluminum chassis,
which also carries all attachments, form the base of the turntable. With 3
adjustable feet the overall turntable can be adjusted. The platter is made of a
very soft alloy to optimize its periodic resonance, and is coated on the rear
side with resonance-reducing material. The bearing is the heart of any
turntable. Complex research and development allowed us to invent a bearing which
unites exact fit, lack of noise, low friction and long term stability. The
platter axle consists of a hardened special steel, which is polished. At the end
of the axle an extremely hard tungsten carbide ball is mounted. Perfectly
matched to the divided bushes from sinter bronze are manufactured. They are
aged, self-lubricating and therefore maintenance free. As bearing bottom we use
the High Tech material TIDORFOLON. Our bearing runs dry - without oil.
The external drive motor of the turntable is run by its own
electronic control. The Alpha then uses the DC current and its own built in
precision oscillator to produce a perfectly clean sine wave of 24V. This perfect
output wave is then used to power the motor, resulting in a clean, steady spin.
The Alpha is impervious to the negative effects household and computer
appliances can have on a turntable drive. Fluctuations are reduced with this
solution. The mass of the platter with its inertia is an integral part of the
turntable concept. Least amount of bearing friction, complex drive control and
large inertia guarantee perfect synchronization.
The tonearm mounting plates are adjustable. The mounting of any
desired tonearm will be possible, with a maximum of 3 tonearm mounting plates on
one turntable. Highest precision and the manufacturing in Germany guarantee
reliability and the perfect function of this turntable. To make sure that every
Analog One MKIII is exactly the same we produce nearly every part on computer
controlled CNC machines.
Reviews HiFi & Records: A turntable like
nothing before. Mechanical engineering at it´s best. Sound quality of the Analog
One MKII is free of any mistakes with a very fast and dynamic bass and rhythm.
Voices, timing Rhythm everything perfect. Limitations are only cartridge and
tonearm. |

Mambo |

|
|
|
|
The Mambo consists of a 2.36" thick
aluminum platter and a massive 2.36" solid aluminum chassis. All
attachments are secured to the chassis forming the base of the
turntable. With 3 adjustable feet, the overall turntable is
adjustable. The development of the new Silent-Platter allows for
the following improvements: elimination of vibration caused by
sound waves, dampening of bearing noise, increased inertia, and
strong dampening of all frequencies from 400Hz to 5kHz.
The improvement in the platter was achieved by drilling 20 holes
in the aluminum platter. These holes are then filled with round
brass bolts called “Silencers”. The upper and lower end of the
silencers are held by interference fit with rubber rings. The
silencers are now integral parts of the platter, and strongly
dampen it. Incidental vibration energy is reduced rapidly and
the platter is calmed down as a result. The position of the
silencers was determined through many test samples and
hearing-experiments, it represents the best solution to improve
performance. The inner silencers calm the field around the
platter axle, and the external ones dampen the rest of the
platter. The outer silencers also increase the inertia of the
platter and therefore improve the wow/flutter. To make sure that
there is no unbalance or eccentricity caused by the additional
holes, they are drilled directly by the machine in the same
process where the outside diameter is manufactured. With that
the holes are positioned in exact relation to the platter axle.
Every silencer is weighed before mounting and this ensures that
all 20 silencers are exactly the same. You can see that we did
everything to make sure the new silent platter of the Mambo is a
technical masterpiece.
The bearing is the heart of any turntable. Complex research and
development allowed us to invent a bearing which unites exact
fit, lack of noise, low friction and long term stability. The
platter axle consists of a hardened special steel, which is
polished. The external drive motor of the turntable is run by
its own electronic control. It is not like any other
manufacturers motors which are power-synchronized - and
therefore sensitive to the fluctuations of your AC current. It
runs with its own high performance oscillator. All AC
synchronous motors are normally speed-linked directly to the
frequency of the main voltage from your wall. Our Alpha Power
Supply completely decouples the motor from your wall voltage,
making the Acoustic-Signature turntable invulnerable to AC power
fluctuations. The Alpha is impervious to the negative effects
household and computer appliances can have on a turntable drive.
The mass of the platter with its inertia is an integral part of
the turntable concept. Smallest bearing friction, complex drive
control and large inertia guarantee perfect synchronization.
The tone arm mounting plates are adjustable. The mounting of any
desired tone arm will be possible, with a maximum of 3 tonearm
mounting plates on one turntable. Highest precision and the
manufacturing in Germany guarantee reliability and performance
of this turntable.
REVIEWS
HiFi &Records 1/2003: The Mambo is
convincing from the first note;.. It was completely solid, was
perfect structured. The per-formed fine dynamics of the bass was
the best I've ever heard. There is no part which I can emphasize
the overall performances superb in every part. My greatest
respect to this turntable.

Calypso MKII |
 |
|
 |
|
|
|
With
the Calypso we want to set a new standard for turntables in the
High- End class. It has all the details you normally find only
in very expensive turntables. It is a high mass turntable with a
1.33" thick massive aluminum platter. To further improve the
resonance behavior of the platter, we drill 20 large holes into
the platter and fill it with brass cylinders which are decoupled
with rubber. Vibration from the platter and also vibration
caused by speakers is absorbed very effectively. This new
platter allows for smoother and more detailed sound. Complex
research and development allowed us to invent a bearing which
unites exact fit, lack of noise, low friction and long term
stability. As bearing bottom we use the High Tech material
TIDORFOLON®. is absolutely singular in the audio industry. It is
noiseless, wear-free and absolutely stable. The external drive
motor of the turntable is run by its own electronic control. It
is not like any other manufacturers motors which are
power-synchronized - and therefore sensitive to the fluctuations
of your AC current. This is achieved through a series of
refinements. This perfect output wave is then used to power the
motor, resulting in a clean, steady spin. The Alpha is
impervious to the negative effects household and computer
appliances can have on a turntable drive.
We use only aluminum to produce the CALYPSO, no plastic! The
platter weighs more than 6kg and has resonance damping on the
back of it. The chassis is made out of 50mm thick aluminum and
with the heavy platter this results in an authority and a deep
and clear bass sound that only high mass turntables can produce.
More than 90 % of the parts are manufactured on our own CNC
machines to make sure every Calypso is exactly the same.

Crystal |

|
The
new Crystal combines the best of both worlds. The fantastic look
of the Acrylic and the resistance and hardness of glass. Glass
itself has nearly no damping and sound wise is it not the best
choice. Acryl is very sensitive against dust and scratches. We
use glass in a sandwich with a high dampening transparent foil
between the 2 layers. The result is a highly absorbing perfectly
looking material.
Here we bring together one of the most sophisticated drive
system/PSU arrangement with a massive, high mass 34mm platter, a
sandwich glass chassis and our external stand alone drive
system. The whole deck is incredibly simple to set up, very
versatile and sonically its performance is outstanding. 3
massive adjustable spiked feet’s allow easy leveling. Arm bases
are changeable so the mounting of any desired 9 inch arm is
possible.

At the first view the Acoustic-Signature Challenger you think about "ultra
solid". This stands also for the sound not only the look. He offers a ultra deep
fundament and it is clearly focused. His extraordinary sound, the excellent
craftsmanship make it an real Stereoplay Highlight.
HiFi World Great Britain 10/2006
"...with the kind of impact you usually associated with 6000EUR US super decks
not 2200 EUR designs. ...as this deck had the best timing of the group,
propelling the music along with incredible energy and drive. It proved fast,
with excellent resolving capabilities, had outstanding transient attack and a
huge dynamic range. This was tempered with superb control, sonically it offered
virtually no overhang, and could go from a subtle wisher to room shaking volume
and back again with ease. The Challenger is is set to make a lot of people
reconsider their expectations of a deck at this price point and offer simply
phenomenal value for the money".

Tango MKII Phono Preamp - MM and MC with New Power Supply! |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
With the Tango, we created a mid price phono preamp
that is easy to use and produces outstanding sound quality. The mainboard is
manufactured as a double-sided board with a large shielding surface on the top.
Only with the double-sided layout those short signal paths are possible which
are needed for the perfect amplification of the extremely small cartridge
signals. This guarantees very low hum and noise values and an outstanding sound
quality. MM and MC settings are widely selectable. The voltage supply comes with
a R.P.C. circuit. This is a newly developed circuit which extremely decreases
the ripple after the regulator and therefore creates a nearly battery like DC.
To make sure the Tango is working in the best possible way, we have included
more than 20.000uF capacitors for filtering!! This is more than much power amps
have. We only use the best quality capacitors on the market. All electrolytic
capacitors are bypassed with Foil-capacitors to make sure small and fast
impulses are transmitted in the best way. The allowed tolerance from the RIAA
curve is less than 0.2 dB. This is reached by using 1% resistors and
high-precise 1% tolerance capacitors. To ensure perfect operation every Amp has
a on site additional power reservoir of 2000 uf direct connected to its power
pins. This additional local stabilization guarantees the best possible working
conditions for the amp. The Tango also has a subsonic filter which eliminates
extreme low frequency distortions under 6 Hz. The technical data corresponds to
the enormous effort we have used in designing this phono preamp. |
|
REVIEWS: |
The Stereo Times Review The Acoustic Signature Tango Phono Preamplifier:
Paul Szabady; May 2002
"Thankfully, the Tango was not neurotic in demanding that only a
particular interconnect be used to show its merits, but its resolution is high
enough that one should avoid choking its output by using a cheesy interconnect.
Two to three days of playing were necessary for the Tango to find its voice
after I first plugged it in, and with no on/off switch, once broken-in, it stays
broken-in. MC load impedances should match most cartridges on the market,
although I couldn't exactly match the van den Hul Frog's lowest recommended
loading of 600 ohm requirement and used 1000 ohms instead. The lowest output MC
cartridge I used - the Talisman Boron at .26 mV - had ample amplification with
the 64 dB of moving coil gain provided.
.
Analog Corner Review of the Acoustic Signature Tango.
The Tango is in the same league as the excellent Lehmann Black Cube: very fine
performance for the price. It did nothing particularly wrong, and quite a bit
right.
Jay Kaufman comments on the Acoustic Signature Tango
The Tango is such a gem, a terrific performer for modest money. You~ll get a
heartfelt sound, great dynamics and flexibility to accommodate any cartridge you
want. The Tango is the make-sense choice for those who want it all - minus the
steep price tag.
HiFi World UK
I nearly jumped from the settee. Dubs of vocals and synthstabbed out powerfully
from the Yorkminsters - this preamp has real push and comes over as exciting,
yet without the obvious cutting edge of other designs. It has big, rounded bass
too that underpins the sound nicely, giving performances plenty of body and
power. |

Platter Clamp Grip MKII |
 |
|
|
|
Vinyl records are thin and
flexible and often warped or bowed. As most records do not lie
flat on the turntable platter, sound reproduction suffers due to
undampend vinyl resonance caused by the stylus riding on an
unsupported record, or the air moved during listening with
speakers. Records which are bowed downward contact the platter
at the outer edge but not in the middle. Conversely, records
that are warped or bowed upwards tend to rock on the platter. In
these instances Anti-skating compensation is less effective and
record wear is increased substantially by the lateral or
vertical seesawing motion of the tonearm/cartridge combination.
The Acoustic-Signature GRIP Record Clamp solves these problems
by bringing the record into more intimate contact with the
platter. To use it, place the record on the patter and place the
clamp on the record. Press and turn the upper knob clockwise to
lock the unit. The record clamp's peripheral edge will force
down the outside of the record label area thereby causing the
record to completely contact the platter surface. To remove the
clamp, it is only necessary to turn the knob 1/4 turn
counterclockwise. The knob does not have to be unscrewed
completely. Like all other Acoustic- Signature products the Grip
is made on high precision CNC-machines to make sure perfect
quality and minimal tolerances.

The constructional characteristics are similar to the Jazz MKII. Soundquality
only became if possible with the Reference, around one perfect to reach and
optics, all conceivable done. Noble woods furnierte trim was covered with piano
lacquer. Not only an optical highlight, but also acoustically, by resonance
decrease particularly effectively. In addition the wood trim is bolted firmly
with a 20mm shale platform. This measure provides for mass and an extremely
solid soundstage. As the further measure the Jazz MKII Reference is equipped in
series with the very complex , external motor control. The drive wins thus again
clearly at peace, precision and dissolution. As tonearm are recommended,
exactly, as with the small Jazz MKII those evaluate models of Jelco or Project.
Is natural the Jazz MKII Reference a potent partner for our internal tonearms,
like e.g. the Fortissimo MKII. Thus they have a combination, which is sounds and

“The Conductor is the
state-of-the-art turntable by Musical Life. Only selected materials with highest
manufacturing precision are used. The highlights of the Conductor are:
substantial mass, smooth running, concealed motor unit, 100mm high POM (Polyoxymethylen) platter
and the extremely complex construction of the plinth. This is manufactured from
a 100mm high Slate stone and
brass in a complex labor-intensive process. Besides the enormous expenditure of
time required in manufacturing The Conductor, no machines in existence can work
on this material as precisely and cleanly as the human hand. Therefore, more
than 60 working hours are necessary to manufacture a Conductor turntable. This
expenditure of time might be singular to turntable manufacturing, and serves to
illustrate the uniqueness of the Conductor. Perfection hand made in Germany!" |
