Oyaide’s revolutionary new conductor–102 SSC–is made through never-before employed technology and craftsmanship.

The result is a new copper called 102 SSC. The 102 portion of the name alludes to the fact that after annealing, the conductivity of the copper is increased by 2.3%, and the SSC stands for Special Surface Copper – the result of the final drawing of the strands through natural diamond dies that yields a variation in surface thickness of +/- 1 micron over the entire length of the conductor – a monumental achievement! 3 Element stranding completes the picture, with three different diameters of wire arranged in such a fashion that the spaces between conductors are minimized and the outer diameter of the assembly is stable and thoroughly consistent.

Triple-layered shielding
The importance of noise protection becomes a defining feature of power cable. by applying star-quad shielding structure to L/i 50 series, considering customer demands and trends, we pursued producing updated products with state-of-art technology. TUNAMI, developed a triple-layered shielding structure. The first layer of this structure converts electromagnetic waves into thermal energy by inter-fusing electromagnetic insulators. As the second layer, the semiconductor layer (carbon) is employed for its characteristic that discharges static electricity without affecting its conductor. A copper foil shielding is set as the third layer to protect the conductor from external noise. Furthermore, drain wires, closely-situated to copper foil shield, make the S/N ratio higher by connecting to the earth's ground.

The "TUNAMI" is a powerful, high-speed, and dynamic cable of a new generation. The short-pitch stranded 102 SSC wire which has a 5.5sq cross-section area actualizes high-power signal transmission. Its voltage endurance is 600V and maximum amperage is 30A. For noise protection, we specially developed the triple-layered shielding structure. It not only rejects internal and external noise but also instantaneous spark noise due to vibration.

TUNAMI GPX-VR embodies an ideal fusion of State-of-Art technology and craftsmanship. It equipped with P/C-046 special edition plug and connectors which was highly-regarded in the US and Japanese market.

Insulator

After the deep analysis for the insulator, we selected polymer polyolefin that has a different degree of hardness at interior and exterior to prevent negative effect by sympathetic vibration. Moreover, this material has a quarter of permittivity compared to common PVC and we paid careful attention to strengthen the cohesiveness of its insulator and conductor in order to infill random space and maintain a high-quality signal transmission.

The plug and connector, P/C-046R, is specifically arranged for TUNAMI GPX. In addition to alteration of plating thickness, its Italian-Red outer barrel is the perfect expression of the passionate sound of TUNAMI GPX.

The TUNAMI GPX-R, P/C-004 special edition, equipped with an "Aspirin Snow White" cover, is attached in order to fully extract the superior potential of TUNAMI power cable. The BLACK MAMBA power cable was developed for the professional recording studio in which flat and colorless sound characters are required for a cable. This time, we modified it for the home sound system and it was produced as the BLACK MAMBA-Σ.

It was planned by a totally different perspective and concept from TUNAMI GPX series which is a symbol of Oyaide power cable and became a standard and best-selling power cable. The clean and crystal clear sound character brings an alternative variation to the power cable lineup of Oyaide.

3.5sq cable diameter makes it flexible and setting cables easier. And it equipped with the blade/contact made by beryllium copper which has a high reputation by application of our premium line plug/connecter/receptacle, M1/F1/R1. Taking advantage of the high conductivity of beryllium copper, the blade is non-plating and buff-polished for getting rid of additional sound color by the power cable.

The name of the fast-moving snake, Black mamba, and the symbol of electric conductivity, sigma, expresses the high-speed electric flow of BLACK MAMBA-Σ

Every one of our products is totally "made in Japan" even down to minute component, all because for us to maintain our high standard of quality and reliability, it is essential to have every production system under our direct and strict control. Our products are for a special market where minute vibration from a loose connection or due to imperfect choice of material could become a vital failure.

We carefully design each and every component for easiness in assembling, simplicity and requirement, cost factor is secondary. Instead, we ignore excess decoration and unnecessary complexity.

These plugs and connectors are not merely high-grade; every step is taken to realize the `State of Art` for audio application.
  • Contacts

The basic material is deoxidized phosphor bronze (1.4mm thick) for strength and secure contact. When connected, they can take over a 7kg load. The surface is thoroughly polished twice.

  • Plating

The manufacturing process is started from the foundation coating. The material which was punched out as a part is polished by hand piece by piece after machined barrel-polishing.

The plating of the P-046/C-046 is a combination of 24k gold and palladium which were selected as a result of repeated listening tests. The inner gold layer is 1.5 microns thick and the outer palladium layer is 0.3 microns thick.

  • Body

30% glass-filled PBT has excellent machine-ability and provides superior electrical isolation. The highly rigid body of the P-046/C-046 effectively attenuates high-speed vibrations. All screws, which were originally designed for the P/C series, are made of highly rigid stainless steel which is a non-magnetic substance. Moreover, the cable cannot be separated from the plug by a force less than 30kg, a significant safety feature.

  • Stainless screws

The screws of the P/C series are all made of highly rigid stainless so its screw head doesn't collapse even if you give them too much strength. In addition, because it is a non-magnetic material, it helps to achieve a high S/N ratio without being magnetized at its connection part.

  • Outer cover

The outer cover of the P/C series is made of PC (PolyCarbonate) for its rigidity and hardness. It helps to attenuate tiny vibrations in quick response and reduce distortions by its superior mechanical strength.

Oyaide designed the M1/F1 as their flagship model, making no compromise. The result is a sound that is powerful, dynamic, and highly sophisticated. The M1/F1 represents a major step forward in cutting-edge technology having inherited and improved upon the advanced technologies of our P/C series.

Based on the technology of M1/F1, we have achieved to create P-004/C-004 as its cost-performance by integrating the features of the M1/F1 and P/C series.


As well as other P/C series audio plugs, the core of P-004/C-004 is composed of the selection of materials, plating technology, and usability.

Inheriting the most core factor of M1/F1, the contacts of P-004/C-004 are made of beryllium copper which ensures mechanical integrity and high conductivity. The plating is also the same as M1/F1 which is a combination of platinum and palladium which was selected after repeated listening tests.
The body is made of 30% glass-filled PBT which has excellent machine-ability and provides superior electrical isolation. And the outer cover of the P/C series is made of PC (PolyCarbonate) for its rigidity and hardness. In addition, its "Black-Diamond" color of the P-004/C-004 outer cover represents its emotional and exciting sound.

Materials

Because our products are so simply assembled, we have to closely examine the qualities of each component in detail. The characteristics of each component are harmonized to complete the M1/F1 as the ultimate product.


The inner housing of the M1/F1 is made from POM (Polyacetal Resin) for its machining characteristic and superior electrical isolation. And the outer casing is made of aluminum with alumite treatment for superior noise reduction.


These are cut out from 40 mm round bars by NC machining and then nearly 85% of the original material is discarded (POM - 90g to 20g / Aluminum - 190g to 25g). The exquisite cutting accuracy is brought by Japanese craftsmanship.

M1/F1 achieved to satisfy the requirements of high performance and safety. And its beautiful design was produced almost spontaneously as a result of pursuit for functionality. The inner housing is made from POM (Polyacetal Resin) for its superior mechanical strength, excellent vibration damping properties, and noise reduction capability. Because the turbulence of the magnetic field is easily generated around connectors, we employed an aluminum outer barrel for noise protection. This combination of materials actualizes a high signal/noise ratio and attenuation vibration. The maximum 17mm cable in diameter is installable.

Plating

To complete the M1/F1, the manufacturing process is started from foundation coating. The material which was punched out as a part is polished by hand piece by piece after machined barrel-polishing.
